Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 28, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains what information TradeLedger ("we", "us") collects when you use the Service, how we use it, and the choices you have. We aim to collect only what we need to run the Service well.

2. Information We Collect

3. Trading Data and Imported Files

Files you upload (such as broker or prop-firm CSV exports) are processed so we can populate your journal with the trades they contain. We do not sell or share your trading data with other users. Aggregate, non-identifying signals (for example, the size of typical CSV uploads) may be used to improve the import experience.

Please do not upload sensitive personal documents (government IDs, bank statements, contracts, etc.). The Service is built for trade data and journal notes only.

4. Account and Login Information

When you sign in with email and password, we store the email and a secure hash of the password. If you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address, and a Google account identifier so we can match you to your TradeLedger account. We do not receive your Google password.

5. Payment and Subscription Information

Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. Card details, billing addresses, and other payment-method information are entered into the processor's secure checkout — TradeLedger does not store full card numbers or other complete payment-method credentials. We receive only what we need to grant access to your account, such as your email, plan, payment status, and a payment reference identifier.

6. How We Use Information

7. How We Share Information

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only with service providers that help us operate TradeLedger — for example, our hosting provider, the third-party payment processor, and the email-delivery provider used for transactional messages. These providers may only process information on our behalf.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our Terms, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of TradeLedger or others.

8. Cookies and Basic Analytics

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in, remember your preferences (for example, theme), and to understand basic usage patterns. You can clear cookies in your browser at any time. Doing so may sign you out and reset preferences.

9. Data Security

We take reasonable steps to protect your data, including secure session-based authentication, password hashing, and encrypted transport (HTTPS). No online service can guarantee absolute security, but we work to keep risk low and will notify affected users if a security issue requires it.

10. Data Retention

We retain account and journal data for as long as your account is active so that you can continue to use it. If you close your account, we may retain certain records for a reasonable period to comply with legal, accounting, or dispute-resolution requirements, and then we will delete or anonymize them.

11. User Choices

12. Children's Privacy

TradeLedger is not intended for, and is not directed to, anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has created an account, please contact us and we will remove the account.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Significant changes will be reflected on this page with a new "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after an update means you accept the revised policy.
